Vaccination Volunteers

GAA Vaccination Volunteer Team

Ulster GAA in partnership with Volunteer Now and the British Red Cross have been leading the volunteering effort across the Mass Vaccination Centres across the north since January.

Our volunteers have given a mammoth effort ensuring the centres run efficiently, safely and effectively as possible.  We are proud to work with our partner organisations and with our colleagues in the Health Service and local Trusts in delivering this vital vaccination programme.

With lockdown slowly lifting, we now require additional volunteers to ensure we have full cover in the centres at all times.  Our volunteers act as Meet & Greeters, welcoming the public and directing people to ensure good flow in the centres, keeping everyone safe while they wait for their vaccination.  These roles are vital in ensuring the centres can continue to operate to provide vaccination to all age groups.  This work is extremely important and rewarding as it offers volunteers the opportunity to be involved in an essential process to help bring us out of this pandemic.

We are currently recruiting a limited number of GAA members for volunteering at these centres: Craigavon, Ballymena, Foyle, Belfast Royal Victoria Hospital, Enniskillen and Omagh.

All centres operate seven days a week from 8:30am-5pm, with the exception of Craigavon which operates longer hours 07:45am- 8pm.  There are two volunteer shifts each day (8:30am-1pm and 12:30pm-5pm, Craigavon 07:45am-2pm, 1:45pm-8pm) with a number of volunteers required for each shift.  Volunteers select shifts that are suitable to them and can do as many or as little shifts as they choose.

If you are a GAA member and interested in volunteering with our established team please email sharon.haughey.ulster@gaa.ie

If you are interested and not a GAA member please email sharon.haughey.ulster@gaa.ie who will be able to advise you on the recruitment process.
